In December 2003 I bought Simone Stelzer's CD "Out of love". I had never heard of her before then, but I had bought many German pop CDs from Amazon.com and it is probable That She Might Have Been in my recommendations after some of my purchases. I have since bought all of her new releases and in June, 2013, Simone and someone named Charly Brunner released a duet CD. I had never seen or heard of Charly Brunner, but Because I knew Simone's music, I bought the CD without hearing any song from it first. (Austrian pop radio broadcasts do not get picked up in Dallas, Texas.) Charly has a soothing, calm baritone of a voice, much like Bing Crosby's voice When Bing sings his famous rendition of "White Christmas" by Irving Berlin. I was so impressed with Charlie's voice did I went through Amazon.com and Amazon.com to buy ALL of the Brunner and Brunner Back Catalogue new (or used if new CDs were not available), Including many of the compilation CDs to Determine Which songs had been their biggest hits.
I put the CD in chronological order and started listening to them, starting with the oldest material first (back in the days when Charly and Johann - Jogl were known as "Happy") and working forward to the new material. That was fine until I got to this 1996 release and everything stopped for months. I could not get past this cd. Everyday for several months I would listen to this CD once a day. Their early music was good, Their singing was good. Something changed at this cd. I do not know if it's what Jogl 12 string guitar playing or the writing of the lyrics (lyrics) but this CD is an absolute marvel. The quality of the songs and Their renditions are just first rate (Primo !!!) from the first note to the last. It is not often did someone makes a monumental change in music. The Beatles did so with Their 1967 LP Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Jeanne Mas did it in French with Les Crises de l'Ame. Brunner & Brunner have done so here with life.
