Unfortunately, there are also negative:
- Both my androids Although reflect the screen contents to the dongle, but unfortunately this works really well only with pictures or "thinking and puzzle games". For movies, the dongle very quickly reached its limits. Frames are omitted, screen freezes for 2-3 seconds (on Android it is running, however, continue to) or it is mainly used for HD material to unsightly blocks.
- There is a small pressure switch on the stick. I do not know why he's there. Many are switched hereby betw. DLNA and Miracast back and forth. With me was the pressure on the switch (whether short or long) has no effect. In the enclosed instructions there to no comment.
- Switching between Miracast and DLNA mode is a bit awkward. It appears upon connection an IP that you have to surf to via a web browser to change the mode. Write short Top IP. The disappears namely once the mirroring is running and can only be seen during the connectivity of.
- My Windows Tablet ASUS ME400C I have not been associated with the dongle to work (Win 8.1). It was supposed to, but I did not feel like me more than 30 minutes mess around with the problem.
- The USB power supply is plugged in at the side. If in addition to the HDMI dongle are a more occupied HDMI, it may well happen that the HDMI cable and dongle Power physically fighting over a few millimeters. USB cable and underlying HDMI cable had me contact, but I had to bend anything, unplug it was enough ... barely.
Personal Conclusion: I wanted with the dongle a simple solution to quickly and easily stream movies both locally as well as from the (inter) network on a flat screen TV. Hama has surely one of the best Miracast dongle in the program and the software seems to mature, but the technology lags behind easily. Miracast is apparently not easy to mirror films (without noticeable loss of quality).
Here comes from this (in my opinion) weighty reason, the stick back.
Update 2/23/2015:
After I have the Hama returned, I dared at times but the stick of Google Ran: The Chrome stick was a very pleasant surprise! With my Nexus5 it was to reflect Prime videos on TV no problem Amazon. Sound and images are transmitted without any lag and Syncfehler. The mirroring function is according to Google still in beta, but it works really well. With the Lenovo Yoga 2 8 "I unfortunately can not reflect the full resolution on the Fermseher, but a) is not so bad (black borders around the mirror image) and b) is perhaps still not resolved with the conclusion of the beta phase. Nice ( but no more than that) are in my opinion the Chrome apps that certain contents of an app separated output on the TV. But maybe I write ne review directly to Chromecast. The update of the local review should be just a little help, for that perhaps a need for a decision.
