Actually wanted Jay-Z so take with his "Black Album" Farewell to the music biz in 2003. I was already not really believed turn what initially with the collabo albums with R. Kelly ("Unfinished Business") and Linkin Park ("Colision Course"), was later confirmed with his comeback "Kingdom Come". All these plates were already not exactly the yellow of the egg, the more eager I was on "American Gangster", because I was expecting a significant increase from the Jigga after cool cover Judging. Of course, he has let it take again big names to take to the studio with. On Producer page we have here P. Diddy and his Hitmen, Bigg D, The Neptunes, Just Blaze, DJ Toomp and Jermaine Dupri. As features Lil Wayne, Beanie Sigel and Nas were available. The first two songs were each produced by Diddy and his boys from Hitmen. Who is here expected Party Smashes are fast but very disappointed. Both "Pray" and "American Dreamin '" rippling just as though to himself, which is due to the totally boring beats especially the otherwise contain neither a good rhythm nor any exciting elements. Even Jay-Z raps here well below its proportions, so the songs are boring and they skippt soon. Funnily enough, comes with the other reviewers of the song "Hello Brooklyn 2.0" with Lil Wayne anything but good way. I, however, think he's a better title of "American Gangster". Sure, the beat is nothing special. Schlicht, dry and hard, without much around it. But right here is Jay-Z's flow to its best advantage. Unfortunately, he has picked out with Lil Wayne exactly the wrong feature because his voice does not fit here now. "No Hook" initially starts very quiet and unspectacular, even looks a bit lame, but with the class Hook rips the Jigga-Man again some out and saves the song. Probably the best track from Jay-Z's now 10th longplayer is likely to be the follow-up single "Roc Boys (And The Winner Is) ...". The instrumental is the more rapid variety, yet incredibly chilled, includes trumpets and drums in the background, has a lot of soul and makes simply fun. Of course, an old hand like Jay-Z makes as a template a real hit. Even "I Know", which was produced by the Neptunes and also includes a few background vocals by Pharrell, is of the relaxed kind. All in all a very good, but not outstanding track. Unfortunately, follow from here with "Party Life" and "Ignorant Shit" but again two very disappointing songs. They are not bad, but also not very good. Intermediate tempo and boring melodies let the listener but fast times a yawn lips scurrying. "Say Hello" like as significantly better. Based on the legendary classic film "Scarface" ("Say hello to the bad guy") the concept of "American Gangster" is illustrated once more. In the background we have a great, really chilled out and pleasant melody. For this, a very soft beat and fits to rhymenden Jigga. Ex-nemesis and now big homie Nas support Jay-Z on "Success". Unfortunately, this is a rather weak song, as the somewhat unusual and penetrating 70s organ that accompanies the two MCs starts to annoy soon. The remaining songs are not all about intoxicating. Only the coming of the Neptunes "Blue Magic" you can still listen. During the verses the beat is quite simple, sometimes even a bit lame. The changes in Hook when the electric sounds and use things liven up. Overall, "American Gangster" slightly better than the very weak "Kingdom Come", but to old glories like "Reasonable Doubt" or "blueprint" is not this board ran by far. From me there's 2.5 star and the realization that Jay-Z also quietly retire could have stayed. For fans from Jigga recommended safe as few songs are useful with it, everyone else should listen very carefully in advance before buying.
