Customer Review

With Fabulea present ourselves Sumerluft their second studio album. A work full of stories about mermaids, ravens, hawks, noble steeds and sailors. A musical journey into mystical worlds to fabulous beings and stories. The quintet offers us on the current album sophisticated medieval folk with a good mix of original compositions and well-known folk songs. The total of sixteen songs take the listener on a magical journey into the sound world of the past. The quiet singing is accompanied by harps, flutes, percussion and bass. The very first track of the album "Metthew's Mermaid" convinced and gives a very good overall impression of the album.

When all pieces are stylistically similar and all very calm on "Fabulae", these are quite varied. It succeeds Sumerluft on convincing way their stylistic direction consistently to keep on the whole album in without sounding boring. In up to seven languages Sumerluft sing old Irish kings, about thoroughbred horses or interpret ways known as "Rabenballade", "Sono Io la Morte" or "Unter den Linden" in their own way. Fabulae is a varied album, offering a good mix of sung and instrumental songs. The self-produced disc is of high quality. The sound is very well mixed, offering a successful sound experience.
