No one suffers as beautiful as Lykke Li, well maybe Lana Del Rey ... but this is about the third album of the Swede. The most beautiful melodies in the world came sometimes from Sweden and Lykke Li also has some great on her album. Grief is of paramount importance to I Never Learn. The instruments sound organic and partly classic, the production is minimal and raw, her vocals very emotional and honest lyrics. Those who had already fallen to their previous albums, is also like this new album. Who is a "I Follow Rivers" examined here will be disappointed, because radio-compatible material is hardly to find. What is not to say that the songs are less beautiful. The title track opens the album in folkloric garb and very catchy melody, a pity that the chorus is sung only once. "No rest for the wicked" is the first single from the album and follows exactly where to cease their last album. "Just like a dream" & "Silverline" resemble each other and have slight 80s ballads influences. "Gunshot" has the strongest melody of the album and is a clear, future single candidate. "Love me like I'm not made of stone" is the minimal song of the album, the vocals are unprocessed and so fragile never sounded the singer. "Never gonna love again" and "Heart of Steel" have sound technical back a 80s touch, but weaken somewhat in contrast to the rest of the album. "Sleeping alone" is a nice way to finish this album full of lamentations. Rating: (O8 / 1o)
