... Unfortunately! I am also a fan of JC of the first hour and also enthusiastic about his live concerts, so my transition from jazz to pop now goes a little too far. Mind you, "Momentum" is undoubtedly a good pop album and would, compared with much what else hangs out in the genre, certainly deserves even 4-5 star. But for Jamie Cullum and also compared with the predecessor "The Pursuit" but it falls sharply. Too slick, over-produced, compressed with synthetic "LP Crackle", synths in Background, echo without end etc. come Jamie really but excellent songwriting qualities not really through.
In between comes a thing or two flashes of genius earlier, but just really excellent title track is to have only in the bonus version. I was lucky, for 5 to buy this album, plus the 3 bonus tracks from the Extended version, so it's still priced convincing.
If I may wish for something: the next album again with more "Twentysomething" (or now rather "thirtysomething") plus a shot "The Pursuit", then I am reconciled.
