Game preparation:
The bag 15 cards are sorted out and by color (yellow, blue, green, red, gold) set aside.
The 52 cards are shuffled and potato to each player X cards (2 players = 12 cards plus 8 in a pile, 3-4 players = 12 cards, 5 players = 10 cards) dealt face down. Other potato cards come indiscriminately on a shelf.
Aim of the game:
To achieve the highest score!
How to play:
The active player places a card face up in the middle of the table and in turn followed by the other players. Each player must (!) Play a different color, so that, for example, with 4 players one yellow, green, blue and red card for a valid ausliegt down. The casting obtained, who has played the highest number thereof - in equal numbers wins the last have been played!
The "Potato Man" - cards (yellow, 1-3) win always against the "Evil Potato" - cards (red, 16-18), when it for inspection in the same stitch - the number is ignored.
The player who takes the trick, puts the played cards to the foundation and takes in the played by him color a bag of cards. If the corresponding blind card is no longer in stock, it takes instead a golden sack card. Is there hereof no more, he gets nothing. Anyway, he plays from the next train.
The bag cards are collected and put on broadcast VPs according to the illustrated potato sacks (1-5).
If one can not operate because it lacks the necessary color to play off one player, the round ends immediately and no one gets a blind card. All the cards come also on the shelf - so it can happen that players have many different back cards in hand to broadcast.
A round ends when no more potato cards are in play.
Full time:
Once each player once was starting player and the last round ends.
Variants:
3 player variant; here all the green potato and Sack cards are removed, so that now a regular stitch must include the colors red, blue and yellow. The rest of the rules remain the same.
Conclusion:
A fine, quick trick game is available here. The material is valuable and to look at the graphics nicely. Game play is simple, just the rules are not always formulated very clearly.
For example, you can interpret the broadcast so that is really played up to the last card, so it may come a cause, two players play the round alone at the end, because the players had left by broken plays fewer cards. Or the round ends as soon as a player has no more cards?
Even if the eponymous "Potato Man" probably. more superhero is, as formulated? Sticht he really always, when it is only together in one stitch with "Evil Potato" or stabs the "Potato Man" always - since it is otherwise with the numbers 1-3 in rather poor game - or he goes for 1, 2, 3 in operating under?
On the whole, a playable trick game, with a time other issues, but no real innovation in the market.
