To address also in other reviews:
I Civilization4, Civ4 Warlords and Civ4 Beyond the Sword all can play without problems on different hardware completely, started on a somewhat aged Medion notebook with Centrino 1.7GHz and 1GB RAM and a Radeon9700 Mobility, a shuttle with Intel Core2 Duo E6600 with 2 x 2.4GHz, 2GB RAM and an ATI Radeon X1950XT and last but not least on an HP Pavilion dv5 with Intel Core2 Duo P8400 with 2 x 2.26GHz, 2GB RAM and nVidia GeForce 9600M GT.
Even friends had been with Civ never technical problems, so I can really only react with incomprehension on the problems described, but not doubt it, that there can be such also in Civ4, as actually at every game. Sometimes it can not tolerate certain components, unfortunately happens.
And the allegations listed without justifications Civ4 was flat, I can not understand even more so. I have come to know as one of the most profound games, the tactical possibilities are awesome. Who needs more depth, the needs to be kidnapped in the worlds of role-playing a la Gothic, The Elder Scrolls or Adventures like "The Moment of Silence", but for a game of turn-based strategy Civ4 is second to none, in my opinion, of the Total War series - which also has a purchase, however, is worth - and deserves the adjective "epic".
What remains to be seen?
Actually, only the purchase!
