The narrative focuses on two torn characters, skinned alive, marked by traumatic events, whose paths intersect from adolescence to adulthood. Their scars ooze and mingle throughout the novel. I enjoyed the chapters on mathematical metaphors Mattia, a reflection perhaps of the scientific background of the author. The style is direct, cruel and straightforward, even poetic, dotted with realistic metaphors; the temporal and narrative ellipses page to page reinforce the difficulty of being in the world and a certain lack of communication. Preserved from any form of pathos, the reader is often shaken, blown, stunned by the abrupt end of the chapters.
