I was already clear that the Ouya is no high-end console. And I wanted also for indie and retro games, as well as emulators. Unfortunately make irregularly occurring delays in controlling the game naught.
The hardware has the following shortcomings:
The fan is ever not quietly - so that the device separates before from the Mediabox.
Reception with cordless connections (WLAN / Bluetooth) is underground. So you have to put down the Ouya so you could actually connect to the same cable, the controller and the Internet.
The software even better:
By now and then emerging delays in the control (whether with Bluetooth controller or cable gamepad) the Ouya can already do not meet their original intent. The games for the Ouya are good, with few exceptions rather little. That was my first really matter, since even sufficient emulators offer. Because of the problems with the control unfortunately are also the unusable. Interesting: On a Windows computer, however, the SNES emulation works itself perfectly with the Ouya controller. It may be that new Ouya versions have improved somewhat this problem, but I also believe that for Android simply the wrong system is because it interacts not very good with various Eingabegeäten. A Bluetooth mouse jerky extremely. The same behavior I could observe on my Tablet.
The overall concept is not really so sympathetic as at first glance: The unit will have the credit card with the Setup (or the alternative is rather cumbersome and not available in every country). In the game selection is not initially not clear whether and how much is the game and what are the limitations of the demo version. (Tip: Click [...] may be experiencing). And the support is probably overloaded.
One can quite easily install an alternate AppStore such as Aptoide and But by the bad wireless reception, the fan and the hassle to nonexistent Android Multitasking is good about this then Media Player, Flash, etc. also as the Ouya little.
Conclusion: Stay away. Dear connect an older PC to the TV and install it there emulators. Then there are better games - where the controller works.

- With the update now typing problems have been improved. Also you should make sure if you do not only need to activate the game mode when TV because today's TV delay the signal in addition.
- An easy-to-install Linux distribution is still not in sight.
- Per USB adapter I have easily infected two other controllers. So that makes a total of 4 controllers. Make games like "No Brakes Valet" for four fun. But unfortunately, the Ouya is still barely used, since the emulation is too laborious and on a Windows or Linux system works better.
