I have privately already a Galaxy Nexus, iPhone (professionally) and had worked with the Asus Transformer. Now to me the number of devices, however, were too much, and a 10-inch tablet on the go too bulky, so I opted for a 7-inch tablet with phone functionality, so I then have only one device that I can take it anywhere. Therefore, it had to be a 3G variant. The first impression was ... disappointing. Operation is hackeliger than the Transformer, also it does not react as fast to inputs such as had done the Transformer, this is probably still on the somewhat weak processor. Also very poor is the wireless receiver with me. Both my Nexus, iPhone and the Transformer have 100% reception, during this Galaxy Tab has only 1-2 strokes, and occasionally loses connection. I find this surprising because the 3G reception is always great and also much faster than Wi-Fi works! (No is not, to my wireless, the other 3 units are therefore not a problem!) Another problem is a slight green tint in my display. Normal users do not like it stand out, but because I am dealing with photography and also look at pictures so he'll think negatively. I will send the device, so if there is possibly only at my copy or the replacement device that has also. Furthermore, I feel that the display smeared much faster and I have to clean it more often than the Transformer. Not beautiful, but so you can still live. But what really bothers me is the charging cable! It is not a micro-USB as usual, but a connector of the iPhone charger looks very similar and is compatible with nothing. Since Samsung has copied too much, because I wonder what that hell ?! Positive fall on only the speaker and the phone function. The sound is very good, and even in speakerphone mode there are no problems, no echo. However, I would recommend to call a Bluetooth headset. The battery life is pretty good, but the Transformer does not exceed. I have now 2 days, active use in wireless, a few phone calls and the battery is keeping him with the very first charge. It may be that the changes even after several charges.
Conclusion:
+ Excellent telephone function + Good sound of the speakers + Long battery life
- Hoe Lige control - Sluggish Surfing - Lousy wireless reception - Farbstichiger Monitor - Fast display verschmierendes
However, since there are no alternatives in this format with phone function, I'll probably use it anyway, I resent Samsung, and here reports if any improved after replacing something.
UPDATE [11.10.2012]: Have now replaced the unit. The new one has now no more color cast, the wireless problem is, however, still, as the hoe celled control - so that seems to be "normal" for the part.
