Updates fix the battery problem!

First things first: Once updating is not enough. In a perfect world you will download an update to the Android operating system, an update for the ASUS firmware and updates for the apps and is ready.
Here you press update, the tablet will update to a newer version (incl. Restart etc.) and claims to be up to date. If you press then again to update, but a Download icon in the taskbar and a little later to note that the new update is ready for installation appears. Firmware + Android together amounted to 5-7 updates, of course I do not exactly count. I do not understand why the tablet is not directly and download and install all the updates - a bit annoying, but if you know no problem.

These updates are anything but optional. Without updates, the tablet used with deactivated WLAN standby in "ultra thrifty mode" per hour about 4% of the battery charge - a catastrophic amount that would have done with me almost for returning. After really all updates were then installed, this value was reduced to 1% charge loss in about 4 hours. An outstanding value in my opinion.

Almost everything else about the tablet was as expected. Writing on the external SD card is not working, but the Android version owed and not the tablet. The camera is quite a scrap, but that was expected and I do not use them anyway.
The display is reasonably convincing, though the pixel density is not comparable with the more expensive competition, but is okay and the brightness is good. The speakers are okay for the price range, but pointing forward they would like me better (like the Lenovo A8-50).
But I was surprised actually by the processor. Such smooth operation I did not expect in this price range, here to build in my opinion a very good decision of the fleets Asus Z3745 and prefer to save in other places (SIM slot, camera).

Conclusion: 4/5 stars because the update function is cumbersome and the speed and facilities (of course) can not compete with high-end appliances. Price / performance but in my eyes very well.
