With their 12th studio album, the Portuguese have carved out a real pounds from "Moonspell". "Extinct" is stylistically hard to classify, but it stands out above all through the varied and complex songs. For this reason, it desperately needs more passes to the album as a whole really comes into effect, but then irrevocably sets in the ear canals. "Moonspell" have indeed to "Extinct" not reinvented, but it sounds to me clearly different than the previous albums. "Extinct" is stelllenweise metallic and harder than its predecessor, the boundaries between Black-, dark- and gothic metal are highly blurred into one another and many a piece seems to me quite "pop" therefore. To clarify that, I like that, and the songs are to act far from cheesy or even boring, on the contrary, that's what makes "Extinct" at a very good album. Also some songs were refined by strings and orchestral elements is the song to shame. I think the "Extinct" will appeal to a fairly broad audience and "Moonspell" have adopted a piece far to want to use a certain "division public". In spite of everything have "Moonspell" on "Extinct" the packed what distinguishes them for many years. As there very beautiful and varied melodies would be the music presented on a very high level and spraying these sinister, yet very sensitive atmosphere. The whole album is very "maturely" and you can see that the five Portuguese had a plan they have implemented perfectly, "Extinct" is like all of a piece! Playing tips I would like to take this opportunity not enter because the whole album is very good and above all very diverse enough so far ought to be something for everyone.
My conclusion: For me, "Extinct" the strongest album of the Portuguese. I especially like the varied and complex song material which acts for the "Extinct" makes dull or brittle at any time. I also could not find any weaknesses or gap filler - well done, "Moonspell"!
