That Fran Healey's a good songwriter, was well known, but until now mainly acoustically arranged pieces his band began then but already bored a little, and there is all the more praiseworthy that Travis now dare even once in Rockgefilde, even if not all so very successfully.
The first few songs on this album, although beautiful Rocker and spiced here and there sometimes with experimental ingredients (a kind of choir Carmina Burana is used), but it is because not help feeling that Healey in this new role, not so all feel comfortable, which is probably because of the fact that a professional to hard blues-rock song just does not fit quite so his voice. For more pop songs from the middle of the album, it is then but suddenly very well, and how to get there partly the sound of other bands (eg. Ex. The Doors on, Friends ', or U2, Song To Self')) emulates gets without the band delivers just a ridiculous copy of each of them large class.
So all the new concept of rock Travis did not go on, but it is a big step in the right direction, and perhaps are still a true competitor for Coldplay. In joyful surprise therefore 4 stars.
