Bought for backup videos on Mac projects, the ability mattered to me much more than speed, so I do not particularly tested it, but the flows seem rather decent / good (a quick test with the Application Disk Speed Test of Black Magic gives 137 to 140 MB / s both reading and writing).
In terms of content of the box, so there is the hard drive, the external power supply provided with 4 (if I'm not mistaken) different adapters sector (which can always be handy) and a USB3 cable. Everything is well packed, the hard drive will not ride in the box, no worries on that side.
The connection of the disk, there are (from memory) a user guide and a exe ... being designed to use a Mac in my case, no idea of the usefulness of the exe. Anyway, a small format (in seconds) and that's normal ... it usable disk.
Concerning the unit as a whole, the appearance is very qualitative, it is over, everything is well in place, it is rather beautiful (or rather it is uncluttered and I like it: Mixing quality plastic and brushed aluminum), it is a little bit thick and not particularly light, but is not self-powered, transportability is clearly not the objective of this type of hard disk.
At the back of the hard drive, it's very simple: the USB port (all purpose), the power jack and an on / off button. Note that the power button is quite optional: if you do not touch the drive turns on and off with the PC (and goes to sleep if it is not used), that I find very good. The power button on / off thus find his interest in occasional use, to turn on the disk only when needed.
At the front, a line of light just to witness the activity of the hard drive and simple ... (again), sober.
I have another 3TB disk of the mark (same look, but series + old): the 4TB seems less heat and less vibration (and therefore make less noise), it is very good points (check on the duration).
Go to nitpick, I just wish the color change ... my 3TB disk was dark brushed aluminum ... it is clear, damage to the inconsistent (but at least I distinguished).
In short, I highly recommend (for the moment).
