To the other completely incorrect review (see comment) counter in the overall standings, here a correction: Rieger's Art of Fugue is very much alive and well worth listening to. Ornaments are used sparingly, the tempi (because of the choice of instruments most sentences fall slightly faster) are well chosen, in my opinion and the agogics gives the complex work of Bach on the harpsichord itself a kind of transparency that you miss at other recordings. Rieger shows that he has studied the work and penetrated the joints. With the quality of the recording, however, I had to make friends only. But the part of the performers a great shot and a harpsichord recording of The Art of Fugue absolutely on the cutting edge. And who says, Christian Rieger could not keep time, maybe listen to items, in Contrapunctus IX and convinced of his ability.
