With steering wheel virtually unplayable

After several years of racetrack I was once again looking for something off in between. CMR2 I had positive memories, so why not "Colin McRae Dirt" for little money as a spontaneous purchase.

The installation ran on my system (Windows 7 64-bit with * enabled * UAC) properly through. The problems that other reviewers have Windows 7 I can not confirm. But I must mention that I have always been not in the Windows program folder Games (c: \ Program Files \) install, but in a separate folder (c: \ games \). Under Vista / Win7 has the charming advantage that the games there may continue undisturbed store data in its own program folder.

When going through the basic settings I was initially irritated that only "keyboard" was offered in control. A steering wheel can be exploited but when the control of "keyboard" to "Custom" surrounded (a tab to the right). Then the tab for Force Feedback is unlocked and can be adapted on the last card, the sensitivity of the controller.

Unfortunately utilizes all set at the sensitivity nothing. With the steering wheel to stay busy to keep the uncontrolled lurching load at all on the route permanently. Even the keyboard is much faster than with a steering wheel. I seriously wonder whether the developers have ever tested with a steering wheel.

Conclusion: Conveniently isses, on the graphic you can not complain too, but the control (with steering wheel) is a disaster. Frustration rather than pleasure. A star, but only because zero stars do not go at Amazon ...
