I had a USB Podcast Micro (MXL DRK-USB) and was unsure whether now the Rode would be so much better. But as I create more and more podcasts for my company website, I wanted to better equipment. What has the Rode and my old is not a level control in the settings of OSX (Windows too) - so I can adjust the volume and control - the MXL's was nothing set. Thus, I always had to get good voluminous record a certain distance from the micro comply with (5-7cm). When I Rode the Micro from the image entirely take (if I want to shoot yourself) and get through the modulation (distance then about 50 cm) are still sharp shots down. Previously, I had to make all recordings still artificially louder - the Rode rather even runterregeln quite the opposite.
The micro itself is really massive and heavy (metal), super processed. Only the pop screen, stand, etc. is made of plastic (which is very good for weight).
Got me to the table stand by Rode brought - so I now have the perfect setup for my podcasts.
