Customer Review

This is probably the most extraordinary album of recent years. Time wonderfully melancholic, sometimes funny, sometimes critical, sometimes scathing, sometimes inspiring, always honest ... a mix that has delighted me completely. Marina combines amazing texts with great and sometimes very catchy melodies, their unique and intense voice gives the songs also unmistakable.

1. Are you satisfied? - How do I find a perfect introduction to the album. A rather quiet number, in the Marina appeals to be as you are and nothing to give to the opinions of others. "People like to tell you what you're gonna be. It's not my problem if you do not see what I see", "It's my business if I feel the need to smoke and drink and sway". Marina is completely non-conformist, and that is one thing that distinguishes them. 4.5 / 5

2. Shampain - And just a really catchy song with catchy potential. He describes the flight from the world through the handle to alcohol "Drinking champagne to forget yesterday". But I needed a bit to befriend me really with the song. 4/5

3. I am not a Robot - For me by far the best song on the album. It everything is just right. Absolute catchy tune and a text that should inspire many people to reflect on their own lives. "You do not always have to be on top. Better to be hated than loved, loved, loved for what you're not. You're vulnerable, you're vulnerable, you are not a robot" 6/5

4. Girls - This song Marina expects typical behaviors and little problems of women from. It underlines its Unangepassheit, but does so much more playful and more biting than in 'Are you satisfied?'. "Girls They never befriend me, cause I fall asleep When They speak of all the calories They eat. All they say is na na na na na." It's really fun to listen to this song. 5/5

5. Mowgli's Road - To be honest, from large parts of the song lyrics do not really smart, but I love this song. It's funny, musical and playful despite higher complexity than in other songs very catchy. Also, I love the line "You say YES to everything. Will did guarantee you a win?" 5/5

6. Obsessions - Musically one of the quietest songs on the album. With melancholic touch, yet very pleasant. Unusually unromantic, but for that very reason all the more honest a look at a relationship is thrown. "I want to wipe out all the sad Ideas that come to me when I am holding you" 5/5

7. Hollywood - The best-known song, because it has been successful here in Germany as a single. Musically catchy and snappy settlement with the glamor stronghold Hollywood. "I've been living in a movie scene, puking American dreams" Very more fun song! 5/5

8. The Outsider - As the name suggests, this song describes the feelings of an outsider. However, it could not quite get through to me so far. 3/5

9. Hermit the Frog - Frankly again a text that I probably do not fully understand, but probably lies more than me at the text. Musically I find this song quite nice, it does not belong to me but to the highlights of the album. 3/5

10. Oh No! - This song is a very entertaining and brightly colored up-tempo number, in the Marina describes himself with an ironic tone, as it deals with fear of failure. "Cause I feel like I'm the worst, so I always act like I'm the best," "TV taught me how to feel, now real life has no appeal." At first I found the song a bit strange, because it is musically more "freaked" than many other of the songs, now it is one of my favorites. 5/5

11. Rootless - After 'Oh No' a stark contrast. A very quiet and melancholy song, which deals with the instability and isolation in the world. Written with great Methaphorik. "I'm a snail without a shell, a leper with a golden bell". Or maybe just a bit too monotonous. 3.5 / 5

12. Numb - This song seems to be directly aware 'Rootless' to connect. It describes with melancholy tones similar feeling of dizziness and emptiness, but to escape the desire and the desire this. "Shine, looking for the Golden Light. Oh, it's a reasonable sacrifice." 4/5

13. Guilty - The likely most personal song on the album. Even if the language is purely metaphorical and does not say exactly what happened in childhood, which is why Marina feels guilty, you can feel how much they charged her childhood and how she wanted to escape to the music. Personally, I would have rather liked a more cheerful song to completion. 4/5

Conclusion: Music lovers across the mainstream Pops will certainly have great fun on this album!
