A book that lives up to its title and films it deals with. The introduction is excellent and illuminating every genre (epic, western, mystery, eroticism ...) is well represented, and a wide amount of most delicate film to categorize. Importantly, the authors do not make fun of them, what is already a very good point for them. They do not take either head delicate balance, perfectly illustrated here by chronic one page, both brief and concise, synthetic and rich information, and is ideal as the neophyte open the Amateur supercilious. In short a perfect overview of what was the "local cinema", now deceased. From the beautiful book that reminds us that cinema "bis" is not to be confused with the "bad movie". For it is conventional that it is, ie cinematographic aeuvres, sometimes successful and sometimes wobbly, but having always marked in a way or another the retina of adventurous cinephile. Frankly, we rarely spoke of these films with as much gusto, writing is neat, the book is traversed with great pleasure. Aknin Balbo and have in the past published other books on cinema bis: they are obviously passionate about their subject, they know on the fingertips, without exaggeration, however, nor flaunt their science. Photos illustrate the chronicles, the actors therein are identified, which is a good initiative (even if a user falls well innocuous small errors). Well, you'll understand: an essential purchase for any self-respecting film enthusiast. Happiness for 27 euros, proud company (Riccardo Freda, Jess Franco, Peter Cushing ...) It's a classic, just like the three volumes of dodgy MONSTERS formerly published by Jean-Pierre Putters (Mad Movies)!
