Two Sides To Every Story Clark, Gene (Audio CD)

Customer Review

This publication was the time of publication under an unlucky star, as was almost routine when notorious Unlucky Gene Clark. Firstly, it was overshadowed by the after-effects of his own epochal album "No Other": how in the world he would have wanted to surpass such a union yet? On the other was the reunion with the Restbyrds immediately before the concert at London's Hammersmith Odeon formed in April 1977 launch.

The vast majority of the material on "Two Sides To Every Story" summarizes the most important stages of the musical career of Gene Clark together and makes the sounds of Dillard & Clark, "White Light", "Roadmaster" and "No Other" relive , The title "Marylou" and "Kansas City Southern" to enjoy in the hard rockin 'Club Band Sound, therefore, a reference to the Silverado's, with whom he has previously getingelt by the American provinces. Ultimately, it is once again the excellent song material itself, which leaves all questions of style seem minor. Guest and studio musician Instead of Silverado's here as in all his solo albums busy: a measure that is entirely in the service of optimization of each recording. So it is not surprising when almost every song sounds different and has a completely unique character, held together only by Gene's incomparable vocal style. In addition to his own compositions, we get with "Give My Love To Marie" to hear a song of Texas Troubadours James Talley first time on a Gene Clark album, a choice that suited for wistful melancholy mood of "Two Sides To Every Story" fits.
