The Sony NWZ-A15 comes nobly and feels dibasic. A player but no frills. Neither touchscreen, still huge, even high-resolution display are available. A video or photo playback is possible but only the simplest demands. Unfortunately a properitärer WM-Port is again used for the USB port. It included no earphones. Audio freaks will probably always have better headphones at home, so the previous simple pack-earphones.
The player can be upgraded very well by microSDXC slot. In the menu of the player only the corresponding entry must be selected previously. You can either the internal memory or the microSDXC fill comfortably by Sony MediaGo. During playback, it does not matter on which storage media are the songs, quasi a virtual unit. Alternatively, you can also transfer files via Windows Explorer and drop drag. MediaGo supports ripping CDs in MP3, AAC and FLAC.
The optional sound enhancer "DSEE HX" can polish up quite badly compressed audio files something when using FLAC, however, I find this feature as a sound deterioration.
The VPT surround sound effects such as "Studio", "club", "Live", "stadium" etc. are a nice gimmick, but distort too much like the sound field. The dynamic sound setting "Clear Audio +" on the other hand is quite good useful, but also very bassy.
An equalizer with pre-setting and two user-definable settings is also offered again. But I must say very clearly the sound from the player is also without any EQ setting absolutely perfect.
Bluetooth, sleep timer, radio, alarm clock, bookmarks, Karaoke / language learning function and SenseMe are also available.
While I was the sound jump "new player with lossless FLAC" vs. "Old player with AAC" clearly out hear, it occurs to me when it comes to Hi Res Audio in Studio Master quality very hard at all a first judgment dispense. I have "World In A Day Around The" Prince gekönnt me in 24 bit quality. Sony seems to be convinced of this quality level, there are the player but a downsampling function. I hear there anyway no difference, but could also have a wide variety of causes.
In summary: expandable Hi-res audio player, with really great sound to a quite reasonable price. The new Walkman comes but without great additional features, therefore, since I also do not need me full credit.
