Regarding the story, I have all along had the sensation of being in the family fireside and a former family offered us a tale. It is told as a story told orally to children, and taking this into account, we are lulled by the words of the author and history offered to us. It is a story which is therefore accessible to all ages, from 8 years even as it is also well suited to a young audience to adults who find a pleasant fantasy tale to follow.
Bilbo's adventures are fun to follow and contain many moral lessons. It's simple and sometimes a little linear even if the perpetrator breaks a little this aspect starting afresh backward (or even before) offering the perspective of another group of character, allowing the player to have in plus a better overview of the situation.
We will discover the eagles (which also appear in The Lord of the Rings), how Bilbo became a friend of the elves, how he won his mesh coast Mythril or how he came into possession of the ring (and how Golum can know his name). A succession of small but pleasant adventures that have particularly shaken the little hobbit to final adventure that will bring together several races of Middle Earth!
I have not seen the movie and I have not read anything of the author, so I have no point of comparison but I still enjoyed my reading, which is eaten as a tale and which offers us a good read.
