My humble remarks rather focus on the translation of this ancient text 'and that evil begins with Dao translated as "Truth" and "chang dao" (the interface does not seem to accept Chinese characters) as "absolute truth", originality which contradicts the demonstration Lao Zi to know that there is just no truth, human concept and therefore naturally subjective. In Chinese thinking "the truth is ethical First, the primary concern is to determine the appropriate use of the speech, not what makes the truth of mental dispositions, proposals, ideas or concepts "(Anne Cheng)
The rest is after all no worse than the other translations (with some exceptions) 'but not best either (with some exceptions). Like the others, Kou Ma speaks of emptiness in the 4th chapter "The Tao is empty. Never use only fills it. "While" chong "returns instead to the idea of a bubbling of a stream of activity or energy colliding, a sort of cosmic soup from which all arise. How could the void also produce everything?
4-5 The phrase "Identifies in the light" while "he" means sweet, nice, harmonious, in good terms or in peace. The 5-1 "Rudes are heaven and earth which deal in straw dogs multitude of beings" is also a simplification of "bu ren", translated as "harsh" while it is more a question of absence morality, laws of the universe and nature is amoral 'that is to say, they stood outside any concept of morality' and therefore without vis-à-vis feelings creatures that are born and dying, which are ephemeral.
Occasionally, a sentence appears to me to stand out "Empty name is the origin of heaven and earth" (1-3), "but the conscience fills empty bellies" (3-5), "By Under the non-action, the order continues, natural "(3-9), etc.
Nevertheless, we regret the absence of the Chinese text as well as the almost total absence of explanation, before clearing the drive itself the choice of translator. This is the standard but it's boring. For in-depth explanations, character (Chinese) per character, see the website [...]
Overall, the work and style are honest (no more) and offer an additional perspective to the fans of Tao, Tao aware that, similar to water, takes the form of containers who welcome. A translation of Daode Jing 'choice for a given ideogram, rather than a sense of another' necessarily have the form of the translator 'and that's why he will not act the Tao!
Sincerely,
