This album is said to be the biggest flop -kommerzielle- Simons. It is true, "Hearts and Bones" is not so hitlastig as the albums with Art Garfunkel, although not as spectacular as the later "World Music" works (total above ground: "Graceland"), but still an excellent album. The opener "Allergies" (with a good-humored Al di Meola as a guest guitarist) and "Train in the Distance" are already the 4 star value and should even be alluded. A beautiful, understated album with lots of charm, irony and full of wisdom, if one pays attention to the lyrics. I was very happy about this record, in a time when FGTH, New Order or Depeche Mode dominated the radio. And there am today.
