A Whole New World ...

First we get to know Aria and her friends, who live in a pod called Reverie. I imagine thesis Pods to look something like snow globes. A city beneath a dome. Children are not received anymore, They are created. And every person poss esses a so-called Smarteye. A Small Device That You can pop over your left eye and then with the power of your brain can see anything you like with. You can travel to places you've never been before and even change your outward appearing to your liking. These illusions are called the Realms and you do not only see other thesis places, you can touch so the things there and even smell them.

The second protagonist is Peregrine or Perry as his friends call him. He is, what the people in the pods call him, to outsiders. As the term already Suggests, he lives on the outside of the pods. The Outsiders live in Their Own Cities Which are beneath the real sky but get terrorized by storms ether sooner or later. Really terrible storms Which can even burn your skin or burn you alive Actually if you do not hide from it. To help his nephew, Talon, Perry sneaks into a part of Reverie Which is not used anymore Because it has been contaminated by the ether storms. There he tries to get his hands on some medicine to make Talon feel better.

There he meets Aria and saves her life from a raging fire did one of her fellow Dwellers (that's what the Outsiders call the people living in the pods) started. Although she tried to stop Soren, who is the son of one of the consuls in reverie, she gets all the blame for what happened and gets thrown out of Reverie on the Outside, where she is left to die. Dwellers, who do not know things like fear and illness, normally would not survive one day out there.

But she meets Perry again on his way to rescue Talon, who has been kidnapped by the Dwellers, and the two of them strike a deal. She wants to help him get back Talon and in exchange is he going to help her find her mother in one of the other pods. And the real adventures begin ...

Under the Never Sky started out really confusing with all the new terms like Smarteye, Pods, ether Storms and so on Because nothing is Explained at all. But the more I read the more reluctant I got to put it away and When it ended I was Actually disappointed it did what already over. Now I just can not wait for the next installment to be published!
