Again a very beautiful film music by Rachel Portman

Since the soundtrack to Chocolat I am a big fan of Rachel Portman and was not disappointed at The Lakehouse. The quiet, partly a little melancholy pieces fit nicely with the pictures and the story of the film. Very good to me also the pieces by Paul Mc Cartney (This Never Happened Before) or Carole King have (It's Too Late) fell.

In addition, 3 further songs are included that do not originate from Rachel Portman:

But unfortunately also missing, as is so often on a soundtrack album, a few pieces:

- I Wish You Love - Rosemary Clooney (restaurant scene)

- La noyée - Carla Bruni

- Pink Moon - Nick Drake

- Somewhere Only We Know - Keane (song in the movie trailer)

- There Will Never Be Another You - Rosemary Clooney (restaurant scene)

- Young at Heart - (found for example on the CD The Songs-The Art of the Trio 3) Brad Mehldau

Especially the latter I personally sorely missed because I liked particularly well in the film. There is then again a star deduction. Nevertheless, this CD is an absolute buy recommendation.
