After a long search, I have now decided for the Lowepro Fastpack 350. Overall I am very happy with the choice and would recommend the daypack warmly.
The important points for me:
+ Very good workmanship - I really have nothing to complain about.
+ Exceptional comfort, even with high weight - perhaps in the middle of summer a little warm - but I sweat under any backpack ....
+ Easy, faster lateral access to the camera (in my case, Nikon D300, 16-85 with Gegenlichblende. This really is solved very well.
+ The camera is well located in the designated slot, by properly placing the camera strap can be the seat still improve.
+ Plenty of space for additional equipment Photo: SB900 flash, two medium-sized lenses, plenty of odds and ends;
+ The D300 fits well with battery grip into the backpack
+ Laptop compartment can be "misused" for clothes or a hydration bladder
+ Plenty of space for equipment a day trip: 1.5l bottle fits cross in the upper part + food etc .. For my taste a good compromise between Photo and normal backpack. For a multi-day tour with climbing equipment etc. Of course it is not enough.
- Feet at the bottom of the backpack is missing. The material is amplified there, but they polluted the Rucksck easily when parking
- Rain cover is missing - I've just taken a sheath of an old rucksack. The absence of the casing was previously known to me, still the easy part of my opinion on every quality backpack so. Since LowePro should make improvements in the next model.
- The back is indeed comfortable but a bit soft, thus, a laptop or a hydration system by pressing and reduce the comfort.
The minuses are worth a deduction of a full star, if proven, the "perceived" stability of the backpack in practice, there is no real cause for complaint.
The backpack is (D300 / 700/2/3 of Canon 40 / 50D, 5D, Nikon) best suited for slightly larger cameras. Small camera models might be losing something in the container - this one should remember and then select possibly a smaller Fastpack.
