I do not know if I can advise against the purchase; To play DVDs and BluRays's the thing determined okay.
But I'm not happy to have bought it, and it would not buy it again.
It pass a few days when I'm not annoyed by anything on the device.
I use it mostly as a streaming client (Watch Ever, Netflix) and for movies on my NAS.
- The machine crashes too often, when you're in an app. Oops, wrong button, back button - drag crash, plug.
- When a DVD / BluRay is inserted, the device is completely to hell. To play it is great, but then stream back? Just press any of the DVD buttons on the remote control, otherwise the App sound continues, but the DVD Menu will be displayed ... it is only after a few minutes to consider-how out again. Just annoying, unnecessarily.
- MyApps is a collection of apps that I often need ... that would be useful if they would not require the broadest navigation to the menu, more than the things I never use, but can not remove ("Premium" and " LG World ").
- Sometimes I use HDMI in to see my computer screen. Too bad that the "inputs" not display the HDMI connections, and the "Input" button only FM radio (I do not use) and Bluetooth (I do not use) makes accessible. Useless, annoying.
- The same applies to ARC; which is not even in the list and can only be activated automatically by the TV, and the somewhat unreliable. Nerve nerve nerve.
That would be easy to change everything, but I doubt that LG will do that - it works in some places some deliberately (LG-content push) bad by design, on the other (menu guidance and inputs) as "we do not care".
- Original review -
I have this home theater system a few days, and in principle does of course already know what it is, sound is now prima etc.
However, the software has many little quirks that annoy sometimes permanently.
- Device is hooked via WLAN in my network. Whenever I want first access after power-on, the message comes "It is connected wireless, quality may not be good". Once that would be okay, or if one could suppress it in the settings, but does not.
- Device forgets to turn off, which I want to select media type via DLNA, and goes to default "music" ... which I have but no.
- Device is me already at least twice as crashed that I had to pull the plug.
- Smartphone app is mediocre; did not even jump a timeline to quickly.
- LG Apps are basically to achieve fine, but unnecessarily complicated, and the pre-installed can not be removed.
- Registration on lg.com extremely opaque and cumbersome. Have the password (about the poor remote entry) determined five times entered because the error was simply wrong.
I hope this will be improved in firmware update, but unfortunately, LG also makes it not so easy to report such matters.
EDIT:
This point I have deleted and beaten to a star on the vote:
- Power turns off when the TV is turned off. Even that would be more than useful to be able to suppress in the settings; if you've chosen a web radio, the television really does not have to run now.
The behavior I could stop by a setting on your TV, so it was my fault.
