With parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme have Simon and Garfunkel created an excellent album. It constitutes again that for Simon but typical melancholic songs "The dangling conversation" (my favorite tracks on this CD) "A Poem on the Underground Wall", "Patterns" ... but even humorous pieces such as "The 59th Street Bridge Song ( Feelin 'Groovy) "," Flowers Never Bend With The rainfall "," The Big Bright Green Pleasure Machine "... Here the cheerful songs contain lyrics that you should listen to and about which one should be concerned. "The big bright green pleasure machine" is a song against the increasing influence of big green matte screen, television. Also interesting is the song "7 O'Clock News / Silent Night", who recalled that there still are suffering and wars during the dripping with peace, joy and pancakes time of Christmas. I recommend in any case not to be content with Greatest Hits collections, but to organize also their studio albums by the duo, as otherwise some terrific songs that do not deserve to live a life in the shadows will be lost.
