My previous external enclosure makes Zicken and therefore needed a new framework. The disk is already partitioned and partially loaded with data. But after the installation in the frame and plugging can not get access to the drive - a look at the Disk Management shows a different partition structure.
Okay, so disk back in the old framework - all good (the frame is still running but not reliable) - plate again in the new framework - all crap.
A closer study of the problem, I have found that the old controller, a physical sector size of 4096 bytes reports (as is also the hard drive manufacturer specifies the data sheet) but, the new controller detects a sector size of 512 bytes and thus all traffic (even on the Partition Table) are doomed. The total storage space is, however, correct.
Pretends to a partition before the program is supposed to work (instead of the determined 512ern) it with 4096er sectors, you also get access to the partitions again - unfortunately, you can not save this setting!
Tolle Wurst - So what do I do now? First resent it does not work immediately and write this review. And then? Well, actually I wanted to so prevent, but I will probably reformat the hard drive once the new controller and repartition and hope that clearly comes the hard disk internal controller with the new block size - should the whole thing work, I will change my review course accordingly or . complete.
The housing yourself: The casing is made really great. It looks good and the hard drive sits beautifully spack it (plastic plates do not forget!). Clear - the USB cable could be longer and rubber feet under the base would increase the Rutchfestigkeit, but that's better than nothing. However, the instructions included not worth the paper on which it is printed, the assembly is self-explanatory but mMm. The supplied screwdriver I did not use.
Had the whole thing works directly would loose 5 stars been there - so there are (for now) only. 2
