Red Faction Armageddon is action, as I wish: uncomplicated, fast and highly explosive. The step back to linear, filled with opponents level like it better than the open-world feature of its predecessor. By eliminating escalating explore and puzzles you will be sent here by a quasi action scene to the next - only interrupted by cutscenes. These convey a true uninspired, but as a springboard for action quite decent story and are nicely staged. Star of the show is of course once again the GEOMOD engine which continues to constitute the absolute reference in terms of destructible environments. Nowhere else break buildings together so spectacular and dynamic and can then build a button even on the fly again. Who only once behind the wheel of the four-legged mechs and simply wading through the building, which is my joy can understand on this engine. Also nice: The action is not only explosive, but thanks to many enemy types, some boss enemies and various vehicles also largely varied. Only in the Settings I would have liked more variation. More overworld levels were clearly entitled done well. Too bad also that the developers have waived this time on the fun versus mode in multiplayer area. There are now, however, co-op missions, which are based on typical nowadays Horde modes and to many more hours of gameplay complement the eight hours comprehensive campaign - if you stand on co-op battles. Who wants to devote more of pure destruction, will find in the challenges. Exemplary is also the technical implementation: The extreme effects-laden engine knows no stuttering, tearing still flickering edges and leaves a technically extremely clean impression. Who mourns the not OpenWorld feature of its predecessor and is on action, not only in the thousands of enemies but also the environments affected, which may safely access here.
