The Temperance Movement (Tour Edition) (Audio CD)

Customer Review

The Temperance Movement are the second Zugferd comes to classic rock, to the Rival Sons, located in the stables of the label Earache, which is otherwise rather go in harder climates. With these two bands, the label has also demonstrated a good sense when it comes to feature bands who have the Classic Rock prescribed.

The self-titled album The Temperance Movement is already almost a year available, as the band but now goes on tour, the album is again made fresh in the shops. Is pimped the whole thing with a second CD, which brings live recordings of shows in Glasgow, London, Lincoln and Portsmouth in the living room.

For me this is the opportunity to meet the band, because at the first release to the album is slipped through. The roots of the band are clearly heard. Although the band is from the UK, the US folk influences more than clearly heard. When listening to songs like Chinese Lanterns, Pride or not No Telling the Black Crowes me come often to mind.

The Temperance Movement understand it well between harder blues rock songs and emotional ballads to switch back and forth. The problem of the album is perhaps that a little too many quiet songs are represented on it. If the band had a more pressed the accelerator a little, then the album would have been almost perfect.
The Bonus Live CD is a nice addition. The sound is very rough and not polished. Based on the five songs, one can imagine that The Temperance Movement are the right place on the stage!
