Joan Baez in Concert Part 2 (Audio CD)

Customer Review

Joan Baez 'album from 1963 was again a compilation of live recordings and was aptly titled "In Concert Part 2". Like its predecessor a year ago it was a huge success, reaching the Top Ten of the US, what its unique position only underlined.
It had changed a lot this year. She had learned and know Bob Dylan was influenced by him, as it furthered his career and enabled him to guest appearances at their concerts. Such a duet recording, although for legal reasons not to be found on "In Concert Part 2" (but on the Newport Festival samplers), but she presented live their first two Dylan songs ("Do not Think Twice, It's All Right" and "With God on Our Side"). On one of her college performances she sang the civil rights anthem "We Shall Overcome", which represents a break in the otherwise prevailing concert atmosphere of the plate because of the different Feelings. Your change to the protest took place not radical - that would scare even the audience -, so they brought with "Once I Had a Sweetheart", "Jackaroe", "Fennario" or "Hush Little Baby" classical folk songs from her early days. Your style expansion step but continued. There were also country ("Long Black Veil"), bossa nova ("Manha de Carnaval"), Adams Derroll great melancholy "Portland Town" or the Spanish "'Nu Bello Cardillo". Finally, she agreed with the audience the "Battle Hymn of the Republic" at. The Publik was thrilled and swallowed the 6-minute reprimand of "With God on Our Side" without protest. Her voice is as always crystal clear and purely designed for voice and guitar entertainment at any stage boring.
The new edition from 2002 impresses again by skilful remastering and this time with even five excellent bonus tracks, including Dylan's "Tomorrow Is a Long Time", which had the champion at that time itself is not yet published.
