Comment (on vinyl edition)

I have long been reluctant to listen to this disc, which appeared in all the rankings and all recommendations (when the CRM resonates with media and retail, it quickly becomes stifling pop-rock producing them time). I finally listen on Qobuz, I enjoyed it and I ended up buying ... vinyl.

In fact I adore this record, I have nothing to add to all the positive comments that are made by hand, it is undoubtedly one of the best albums of the last 12 or 24 months, I can smoothly him put 5 stars .. CD or MP3 Version. This is an excellent disc, there is not a bad song on the album.

As for the vinyl version, I'm more reserved in all honesty I would rather put 3 stars than 4.

The cover is beautiful, both in 180g LP are very good, but I find that drive was not "mastered" to take advantage of the vinyl edition. It's clean, but riien better, nothing worse, as the edition CD, it remains unsatisfied for a disc that could have been much more exciting on vinyl (this is not due to the quality of the vinyl , edition that I bought is black vinyl without dyes or alterations to the problem this is the mix and mastering). In fact vinyl sounds a bit hollow and somewhat saturated, almost "MP3".

Too bad, the disc is excellent, I listen gladly but I'm still on my hunger on the analog plane. The least saturated parts remain the best, confirming the problem of noise mastering (together, Rubin producer is not known for its subtlety so it was predictable - He had managed to compress the last acoustic recordings J. Cash, so this is an expert in the field of FM sound bazooka).

For vinyl lovers, if I had to give an opinion on this disc, I would advise to buy rather CD version or dematerialized, and invest in vinyl London Grammar, the last Goldfrapp albums, Beck ... or on the last Led Zeppelin remasters, which at 16 euros as simple, are an extraordinary case (to all points of view: -) ...

Note that I have not spent the disk to any software or audio compression analysis, this comment is purely "by ear 'or to the old, as you will.
