Comparative Test Coffee vs. Hand filters

As a lover of coffee drinks I have already tried and used the last years at home: 1x coffee machine, 3x coffee machine, 2x Siebträgermaschine, 2x hand filter, 1x Capsule Machine, Instant Coffee. For filter coffee I had last used a plastic hand filter.

How to get to use a hand filter? The above machine is the 4th of this type that I have in use. Before that, there were always problems with the "predecessors". The procedure should everyone know how to cook drip coffee. Therefore, I do not show the individual steps, only the significant differences for handling filter and some details of the machine.

- Filling with water: Water that comes to non-withdrawable container. There, the water is boiled as in the kettle. Filling is easier than the manual filter. There I used a measuring cup, here I am relying on the (correct) number of cups. The filling is quite easy thanks to removable or rotatable cover that can be opened half.

- The IR cut filter is something schwerläufig. If you turn him out of the column, which is however easily with one hand. The pitcher must then naturally not stand under it. - The thermal function of the pot should not be overestimated. I also know thermoses, because you get even after 8 hours out a hot drink. The pot used here does not count for this premium segment. Consider alledings: coffee is no water, tea etc. - you should consume him promptly after cooking, to leave just place on the hotplate. At long 'storage' uses the temperature generally nothing more. Therefore, the pot is perfectly fine.
I wanted to know it yet: 2 "large cups" were 4.5 hours in the pot stand. After the coffee was lukewarm. To this end, another little tip: full cans keep the contents better warm.

- An automatic shutdown there with this device. Why is actually in Germany no standard? We need to regulate potato sizes but something does not matter ...
