Well, what can I say? I can already hear the music of long PUR. And please forgive me for the ambitious works from "Adventureland" I pulled various comparisons of the Pop Art-time of Genesis. What accounted for PUR for me, were very sophisticated pop-ideas that some even went to the discerning. There were songs, sometimes even more than the magical border six minutes left, and bursting with the full of ideas and attempted Neuland. And now I stand the "wishes" against. Actually, I am disappointed with the new music will take place at a very high production-technical level. What you hear on "desires"? It's PUR PUR. Haunting, beautiful texts. Well-implemented, easy catchy music. A band that takes out the best from the song material. But just this song material has failed me this time a little too straightforward. Hardly any attempt to create something new (you says the bass line of "Autumn" what? Maybe a "With or Without You" by U2?) To kreirren something extravagant. OK, that the PUR-inclined fan is probably the first place no matter secondly quite rightly so. I personally find it a pity, and punishes my former comparison with Genesis. The only exceptions are "Winter 59", "humanity" (you can tell because the former cooperation of Rudi Buttas with "the" former Saga Singers?) And the actual closing track "The Gift Day", which for me somehow fresh and unexpected sound ( which is probably just personal taste thing). Of course, one can derive from the simple melodies, beautiful lyrics, the total package. And this is again well done. If you like PUR, this album may most certainly. And I will concern myself further with it; although probably only in the car while driving. And yet, I think, PUR is "the" German pop bands, deserves attention. I would probably pull off a point in my review, but I have the album indeed consulted first. And what I heard was mostly nice. Not very good, but nice.
