Normally, I like to buy the photo-shop on site, as you then have a simple lens can send in for calibration, eg if the focus is not sitting. Here at Amazon you can "mon products" but return without hesitation - hence the attempt. And because the focus sits and sharpness also true I kept the lens like.
What does the product:
o 28mm
- Covers roughly the natural field of vision from (slightly cropped)
- Enhances the prospect for some more 3D
- Perspective distortion is not yet in portraits with inclusion of the environment so much that argue the tastes
of / 1.8
- Good exemption thanks 25cm MFD -> more 3D in image
- Works in low light very well out of hand
o Autofocus
- Very fast and precise Ring USM AF with FTM
o Processing
- Made in Japan
- Ring-type USM and aspherical lenses (Otherwise only with "L" lenses)
- Substantially smaller and lighter than L
- Plastic body appears thinner than in L lenses
- MF / AF - switch seems designed only to 10,000 circuits vs. 50,000 at L
How does the product behave in practice:
- Sharp images from f / 2.5
- Pleasant BO KE (Figure in defocused area) bright lights are neutral discs with slight elevation at the edge
- Beautiful pictures at f / 1.8 and ISO1600 for street photography at night
- Perfect sharpness for landscape from f / 5.6
- Nice mix of perspective (28mm) and exemption (f1.8)
CA to correct the FF no problem and if it bothers times in PS -
Compared to ...
- Lighter than a 24-70L, and at 28 f2.8 better picture quality.
- More versatile than a push in terms of aperture, less versatile in terms of focal length
- At f1.8 slight white mist as the 50 1.4 to the sharp details
- For technically perfect portraits do not have to stop down the lens at F2.5, the 85L.
- The 24LvII is superior to that of aperture, focal length and sharpness CA, but falls back in price, portability and light-drop at the edge (4 f - the bulletproof glass, which is required for fine adjustment of margins swallows light).
- A small flaw, I would like to use long now say yet: The exposure has a slight offset to the L-series needs -1/3 ev exposure
Why is this objective in pixels forums not so popular?
- The most expensive non-L Canon lens => increased expectations
- Wide-Angle Lenses are very difficult to build and even expensive optics as the 14LvII are less perfect on the edge as a cheap 85 1.8 => it easy for artifacts prove
Who Should Read This lens is useful for?
Those who want to cover the middle focal length range undim with the possibility sometimes to f1.8 and do not want heavy suitcase full of L lenses drag for the lens is well suited.
For the highest technical quality beyond the "Zoom-border" you have in this "non-L" fixed focal length noted on the technical life of its own.
