Incredibly lame Management Console

After my betagtes QNAP slowly got a little bitchy, I needed a new device. After some research I decided this time for a Synology. The main reasons were HiDrive- and OneDrive clients and a DNS server (which may Qnap until today not). The performance looked very good (huh, Quad Core, was supposed fluppen), also product reviews mostly positive.

When unpacking took me only times the relatively primitive compared to QNAP construction of housing frightened ,. Thin wall, primitive drive bays and a simply plugged cover for the plate slots ... well ... but if the performance is right might be still acceptable for the price ... let's see.

Called web interface, set up and started times with a plate (ok, everything flat style ... as ugly as sin, but present unfortunately an inevitable trend, as once this unspeakable piano lacquer look everywhere).

And then .... laaaaangsam !!!! This thing has nothing to do but every button click produces a 4-10s pause until it goes on. Browse menus or modify a function takes an eternity ... since my old NAS ATOM's lightning speed, however (and that was not a revelation). Ääääh .... what's that for a snoring box?

Ok, but a second chance there's always: From that first data raufzuschaufeln ... small files, large files ... when copying from the old NAS to the PC (or vice versa) I'm always between 5MB / s and 70MB / s , depending on the file size.
Synology? 5KB / s (YES!) Up to 4MB / s .... and that no matter where the files come (different PC, Windows Server, old NAS ... no matter) ... Oh man ...

Finally, to test whether I better transfer rates create using rsync or FTP ... Nope, as soon as the job is running, the Web interface is a goner. Zero reaction. Only about 2 minutes after I canceled the transfer to the source system I'll be back to the GUI.
WTF ... what is that?

All the Start button, set to the factory setting, other disk in and all over again ... with the same result. The part is so lame that would probably run no worse than an acoustic coupler.

Factory reset, drive out and back to Amazon. Thanks for the withdrawal, but the thing is probably ne impudence. I Stay with Qnap. Although a few tricks still not, but even with an aged nuclear power is the thing at least in a finite time to operate.
