Excellent book about Paris during the Great War, I read it in two days in a row, much like a novel. I especially enjoyed the atmosphere of Paris in the year 1918, which is made vividly. A little more to the list of victims of the St Gervais church seems complete: a friend there found the name of a great aunt back! Work was also able to explain the history of this famous gun without falling into details indigestible techniques. Finally, one more for the pictures that are really interesting and help to realize that Paris at the time was a lively city, the opposite of what stage set for tourists and the city became ...!
