The Köln Concert (Audio CD)

Customer Review

This CD is one yes truly a classic among the solo piano recordings. Keith Jarrett has indeed repeatedly dared similar solo performances, (eg Paris concert), but the most impulsive, most expressive and spontaneous music is probably succeeded him in Cologne with the legendary recording. Inconceivable that a musician on the stage occurs only with a concept in mind and then improvised a whole concert long as multifaceted, as exciting, both groovy and intimately. It's about this recording at Schott also published a transcription, but each / every pianist of / has tried to re-enact the will immediately notice that was this intensity and this power that emanates from the recording arise only at the moment and is not reproducible. So an interesting way to understand what Keith Jarrett played, but not nachspielbar in his spirit. For me, this CD was one of those who inspired me, deal next to my classical piano studies me deeper into jazz and improvisation.
