Have recently ordered here this device from Amazon, mainly because of the illuminated and tiltable display. After unpacking already disappointed the feel: it makes a very shaky and unstable impression, because I can agree with the previous reviews only. Especially adapter and coupling devices fitted to the heater valve work not solid. Since that are "smaller" units HR-20 and HR-25 with metal thread significantly better.
Installation and Programming functioned smoothly. But then came equal to drive a negative impact on: not only that it is very noisy, but also regulates relatively common. The thermostat makes at least five times per hour noticeable - in a room where no door or window has been opened and a person is. This is clearly too much and can probably infer mediocre control. At least the desired temperature is maintained in the room (25 sqm) up to +/- 2 ° C exactly.
On the first morning after the assembly I put the same mistake as he was laid already addressed here: the thermostat unresponsive, use impossible. So batteries out, reprogrammed and thought nothing of it. The next morning the same thing again. Then I inserted it back to factory settings and new batteries. And believe it or not: the next morning, the thermostat had put to sleep and did not want to wake up.
I also called the hotline of Home Xpert and there you appeared disinterested, referred to Amazon, was not prepared to help and apparently not even know the difference between warranty and guarantee - Thumb Down! At least I was able to find that the latest software version 1.05 is delivered but the Amazon devices still have version 1.04. What changes there were, of course, was not told. But the problem I have described could well be a software problem.
On Demand on Amazon I was told only devices with firmware version 1.04 are in stock.
I have now made the device for returning again and ready a new order, so it is faster (have no thermostat I could mount on a transitional basis). Thus, the HR-30 really gets a second chance, especially because of the mounting situation of the radiator thermostat with only a tilting screen comes into question. And there is unfortunately little choice ...
If the new device is delivered I will complete this review and publish a new report and. At the moment I can not recommend the device.

UPDATE 12/11/2012: The replacement has arrived and also defective! The knob on the front panel does not respond when activated and there is no latching function noticeable when turning. Quality control knows the manufacturer is not well. So again return.

UPDATE 19/11/2012: In the meantime, the third device has arrived and mounted. At first glance, everything seems to be OK with this. I will then report back here in a few weeks about my experience with the device. Besides defects and returns, there is nothing more to report.

Update 23/11/2012: Now it also has this thermostat again caught after a few days - total crash, nothing works. In the meantime, I received also the manufacturer of the product recall. Particularly ironic: allegedly been affected only the devices from the 34th week of production. My dates from production week 33. So this statement is not so serious to take as well as the Amazon, it does not concern safety issue. I disagree, because if the thermostat crashes then stops working, the frost protection function! Each of the ever rehabilitate another been frozen line (leave) could know what that means ...
So have my proof of purchase to Honeywell e-mailed and asked to exchange. It was called to the exchange of at least 2 weeks me a life. Obviously it is in no hurry there - that's really the summit. I will tell how it will end.

Update 07/10/2014: First again a supplement: the exchange by Honeywell took time really almost 3 weeks. Now, after one and a half years, I had to also replace the thermostat again. Already at the end of the heating season, I noticed that the room temperature was always higher. Battery replacement, new installation of the adapter and teach again brought no improvement - the thermostat no longer close properly. You hear it acoustically that apparently a gear on a shaft just spins and the valve no longer closes entirely.
On the homepage Home Xpert by Honeywell can be found except an expensive hotline number no information to process your repair claims. So I turned me directly at Amazon. Advance replacement by Amazon was exemplary. The very next day the new thermostat was there and working properly. Meanwhile, one way, is arrived at firmware version 2.0.
