But now, a few weeks later, the album is there. And I'm thrilled. "Wake The Dogs" was made the absolute chill opener, "Come Away With Me" after several Listen to anthem and then there's still the rest of the album, which was unknown except for small snippets. One thing is clear, immediately ignites not the album. Grade after first hearing it is still a little confused what this album really is. But even with the second Listen grow the disk, even though it sounds different than anything before. Old-school fans will be disappointed eventually, the development is ultimately tremendously when the "Pocket Rock" sounds and then "Wake The Dogs". Still rocking the disc and the development was also predicted by "The Long Way Home". But now to the album.
As I said, is "Wake The Dogs" an absolute feel-good song. Thereafter, the plate takes the famous concerts of "Into The Grey" on some journey. With a slightly melancholic smacks of song drives neat forward, but without completely breaking. 2. A strong song. After the single "Come Away With Me" followed with "You're So Yesterday" Another rather quiet song. Here is experimenting neat, but the refrain convinces with a very beautiful melody. It follows a good mood song with "Do not Ever Look Down", that is loaded with atypical Chanting in the stanza.
Some getting used to, but certainly celebrated at the upcoming concerts. With "Born A Wolf" comes the Guido-song, a really strong song. Slowly the handbrake is released, "Born A Wolf" but convinces with its catchy verses. The following song "Control" is seen dramatically woh lder highlight of the plate, placed exactly in the middle. Here is rocked right. Already in the verse a decent pace is submitted. The bridge then leads into a synth chorus that but absolutely rocking out live and will certainly impress. Nevertheless, very experimental.
With "Solid Gold" the pace is going down somewhat. This is followed by the extremely "catchige" "You Got It", whose verse very reminiscent of The Hives. Overall, the strongest song on the album. "I Do not Wanna Wake Up" is an old-school song, has the nice guitar rock for the summer. "Chasing The Sky" fits perfectly into the ProSieben preview advertising, because the song is very convinced by his mood. the chorus is really very nice. The song concludes the best phase of the album.
"All You Ever Wanted" and "Manifesto" are two beautiful rock songs that are catchy as the beginning of the album. Both convince with beautiful melodies, but look to the rest of the album rather arbitrary.
"So Long" is a typical bouncer. Great slow 3/4 time-verse and a wonderful sing-along chorus, despite the very serious statement. A horny statements and together with "You Got It" highlight of this album.
The Donots go their way and can not be dissuaded from this. Also on "Wake The Dogs" they prove great songwriting, although some songs are a bit strange. I am very excited about the live implementation of the album, because Donots concerts are very special. The slow coming success is deserved, buys the plate and support the guys. Which are / will be great!
