For all fans of the 70's music this collection is a bargain price very interesting. Fortunately, the re-releases have continued with this set, this time even with bonus tracks on 1 album. The LHS had an immense output in the early 70s. Initially conceived as a response to the Edwin Hawkins Singers & 5th Dimension, with a gospel aufgepoppten & Spiritual sound (Rock My Soul, Promised Land, Old Man Moses) the music continued to develop according to what I felt was the right decision because the Gospel sound was no longer in demand from 73. This was followed by more pop hits, many of which are included here. and even if the series of American cities & regions was not particularly creative (Mexico, Kansas City, New Orleans, California, Dixie, etc), they produced many hits, but also a lot of good music tracks. Many fans mourned the departure of Malcolm (lead singer of the early hits), but there were new members with fantastic voices, eg Earl Jordan & the recently deceased Sheila Mackinlay, which can be heard on many of the songs on this collection. John Lawton also has some fantastic lead vocals here (Danny Boy, Back on tour again). I hope for more re-releases, because the fantastic Xmas album and the last albums FAMILY SHOW & singsong SONG had several good tracks.
