On 04.18.2015 the whole thing will be released on vinyl as a double-vinyl in gatefold sleeve, with really nice design, liner notes and song descriptions inside. Can a Stones fan hardly say no, right?
Well here's my vote:
Clear I would have given anything to see such a gig. Clear Gov't seem Stones fans who still celebrate with Feeling the own (but good!) Choice of songs anyway technically brilliant and.
Class is always in the lengthy, improvised passages (Bitch, slave, Can not you hear me knocking), Mick Taylor and Bobby Keys are greeting. Convincingly, vocally, are the ballads (Angie and especially play with fire).
Musically, that is, the protagonists are probably even better than the Stones of pure skill. However Gov't are more of a jam band, while in the field is unparalleled, but one is not over and that is ultimately the decisive factor:
The magic of a Stones-appearance, the dirt, Jaggers casual arrogance, Keith 'brashness and coolness, Woodies humor of BISS.
The bottom line is not a bad album (okay Warren, good, good, good), also do not regret to have bought it, but to be objective with the above limitation.
