The TV has - and there is hardly need for discussion - an incredibly true-color and ultra sharp image. In my model no clouding effects or formation of streaks can be seen.
What is another reason to buy was for me: The TV has passive 3D, so you can not rely on these flickering shutter glasses. The Hz-number is sufficient even with passive 3D, so that the image can be displayed more clearly and without streaking in moving scenes (my sample Sample: Lego Movie).
The Problem: The software. The new menu is indeed opposite the old Sony-menu built tidy and logical. But until it builds up, pass first time up to 5 minutes. This is similar to the start-up stage of the TV until it is accessible from the remote control.
Furthermore it is not 100% HDMI-CEC compatible. My Yamaha RX-V475 A / V Receiver should receive and output the sound from the Bravia via the ARC input / output. This only works if another compatible with the Bravia Sync CEC System device is connected to the Yamaha. Transfer only the TV sound over HDMI so does not work with a Yamaha receiver.
Also works well, accordingly, the operation of the receiver on the TV remote control only when connecting a further Bravia Sync-compatible device to the Yamaha. This is a big problem of the Bravia Sync codecs. This is different to the general standards in terms of HDMI-CEC.
Another critique point is the Media Player. This long does not play all the video codecs that offer competitors so. In particular, it is not possible to play DVD menu of your own backup copies of non-copy-protected films. Many other video codecs such as DivX, VOB or VC-1 are not supported. So carefully the list of Sony to read before buying: [...]
All criticisms concern only the software. The TV is superior in picture and sound. The fact that this outstanding appearances by such banal software problems marred's a real shame. Perhaps Sony will resolve these issues with a software update. The customer, however, said I should because I do not get your hopes.
Too bad that the corrective action in terms of software is simply overlooked generously with such striking deficiencies. Since this is very disturbing strikes in my daily use of the TV, only 3 out of 5 stars!
