I have 2011 decided on the NX-series, as with sensors in the APS-C format in the long run the best picture quality can be expected in the system cameras. The NX 11 at that time could not make full use of the strengths of the format has changed with the transition to the NX300. The tests in professional journals show that the NX series is now the price for money up front.
The kit lens is generally rated well above average compared to the competition. In version III autofocus is very fast and almost silent. Outdoor need other lenses really only when either a jacket pocket suitable camera like (goes with pancakes or a compact zoom lenses) or the telephoto zoom range is required, possibly the "fisheye". In low light conditions has hitherto only - consistently excellent - pancakes to choose from, there's also a new premium lens 16-50mm for all those who want to spend the cash for it.
I do not want to write too much about the lenses in the review of the camera. Some me but noticed with firmware 1:34 especially at the telephoto end, that the photos were slightly overexposed in direct sunlight in white areas and were visible with full resolution on the screen also blurring at the edges of the bright areas. The problem could be solved in practice by a smaller aperture and / or decrease the exposure by about 1 stage.
With firmware version 1.40 overexposure no longer occurs, which is also explicitly mentioned in the description of the changes. I noticed now is also an autofocus mode for self-portraits, in which I'm not sure if he was already there - in describing the NX300M he is mentioned by some reviewers as a new feature. That this is also available in the NX300 now, shows that the differences are negligible. I tested is not the ...
No question: There will always be "better" cameras, each has, depending on personal preferences and their advantages and disadvantages (size, weight, Video function ...). Myself it is especially important that I liked the pictures, comparisons with other cameras, which are now a little sharper maps or which lens has a nicer bokeh, do not interest me. Overall, the NX system is exactly what you would expect for this price - if you want a lot more has to spend significantly more. Ultimately, also good is the best camera nothing when the subject does not act.
My conclusion: In the practical application I create beautiful photographs repeatedly. With the kit lens and the 18-200mm "Always top" outdoor with fast autofocus and snapshots of children playing are possible, which is very important to me. If you want to dispense in poor lighting conditions on the flash, the pancakes are a good choice.
Only criticism is perhaps the weaker compared to the NX11 battery. The capacity indicator remains also usually long at two of three bars and then changes very quickly to red. But with a full battery, I'm usually good by a day and a replacement battery in the boot escapes me not a pretty subject.
