Where I appreciate a little less (hence only 3 star) is when I see the cost of additional content ... the tablet itself is a "reasonable" price, but only contains a few applications.
If you want to add this can be done through the software "leapfrog connect" Leapfrog, via codes (need to buy cards at 10 euros including 2 codes in stores or on the net).
Gaming applications cost for most 2 codes, as well as videos. And 10 euros for 40 minutes of video for playback only on the tablet, I find it dear; the same for the mini-games, including children quickly go around.
Applications "e-books" do not cost against by a code, and there I think it's worth it because they are well made (resume the principle of leapfrog tag pen, for those who know, and help the learning to read while being very interactive).
There are also applications of "creativity" that cost 2 codes, some of which seem interesting.
There is absolutely no other way to add content to the tablet than going through "leapfrog connect" ... and pay!
Given the number of applications is free children (or very low cost) that can be installed on an iPad or Android tablet, it is rather disappointing from Leapfrog.
More reasonable prices for downloads and easier to realize they would have been welcome!
Otherwise, you can also buy games cartridges for twenty euros, also compatible with Leapster console (and much more fun to use on this tablet given the size of the screen: the children they left the Leapster had for 1 year and a half side of things). We have the game M.Crayon which is very successful and they have not yet bored in more than 1 year.
In terms of content supplied as standard with the tablet, there are:
-l'abri friends: to create a virtual pet and deal + learn to trace the letters in capital
-the unit photo and camera (very average quality typical of this style of children's toys) with a funny app to convert photos and the ability to take pictures of yourself
-some children's songs
-the art studio (drawing)
-the "cartoonist", with which you can create an animated story about different themes, with various characters
-the "studio stories" with which we can create a personalized book
-a code available through which one can download the mini game "a precious train" leapfrog on connect (puzzle game where you have to assemble the rails to run a train, from 4-5 years)
My 7 year old daughter enjoys the photo function, camera and creation (book and cartoon to be created). It is adapted to his age, against a little complicated for children of 3-4 years, I think.
His brother 4 years often uses the game away friends, and above all, plays with the cartridge M.Crayon.
