MTV Unplugged (Audio CD)

Customer Review

This unplugged is definitely the highlight of Nirvana's work of far too quickly einprasselte on the band and just as quickly it must be said, unfortunately, disappeared again which of course the death of Kurt Cobain was.

The Nirvana Unplugged in New York was recorded on 18 November 1993 for the MTV show "Unplugged" and a year later in November 1994 veröffentlicht.Und so it was exactly what we at least still able to give after Cobain's death the fans and them so could make a real parting gift.

After Kurt Cobain's death, the record of this special concert in the career of his band the most worthy tribute to the artist represents. In 1993, there was this greasy and filthy video for the single Sliver (1993 Incesticide), ending excessive world tour with the ever-repeating Instrument battles on the stages around the globe. The year was marked by the following for Cobain following Ingewahrsamnamen and therapy stays because of its uncontrolled heroin addiction. In seamless transition to Cobain found himself on the stage in his own self-repetition in shrill Lärmeseskapaden ended. Cobain was last medial shown only as a dependent Freak a disoriented generation, as a rebel without a goal and as a noisemaker the mainstream. Nirvana sat with the solemn and introverted performance in New York safe and certain calming influence to the loud and incoherent months. In dimmed light by candlelight surrounded by flowers and warm red and orange tones in the center, staged as the soulful artist he was and all the clichés got rid of that were adhered to him. Kurt Cobain and Nirvana showed the sense of melody and drama; timeless, immediately and natural feeling in each of the 14 songs.

From an artistic point of view, Nirvana immortalized before the publication as an album by the TV broadcast in 1993 in the history of pop culture. With release of the album seven months after Cobain's suicide, sales skyrocketed and sat down at the world's top 1 the international charts. The 1996 album was sold in the first 3 years more than 5 million times "excellent. All Apologies 1995 also for Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal Category" with a Grammy for Best Alternative Music nominated and Best Rock Song " to name just a few.

The concert was in the TV world of MTV transfer. A CD-release was not immediately planned after that. Contrary to the TV broadcast, the album contained two non-transferred songs ("Something In The Way" and "Oh me"). From the plate, the single About A Girl was published. In addition, The Man Who Sold The World and Where Did You Sleep Last Night were from Songs About A Girl, All Apologies, released as video clips and successfully marketed for release.

Bleach was viscous, Nevermind fast and loud in utero. All that made MTV Unplugged In New York behind and stressed melody, warmth, love and emotions. Dispensing with crackling and noise elements to Cobain moved into melody-carrying arches. His voice resulted battered and bruised by the set and his drug addiction. Dressed in a warm sweater he wrapped his trembling voice ballad to the songs of his previous creative period as Come As You Are, Something In The Way and All Apologies. This concert was like a final stroke of the hectic past. In addition to his own works were interpretations of David Bowie, Meat Puppets, Leadbelly and The Vaselines. The three songs of Meat Puppets (Oh Me, Lake Of Fire, Plateau) were Curt and Chris Kirkwood the band itself as a guest musician on stage and support the band with guitar, bass and backing vocals. The live concert contains the only official record of the band, on which the 1993 recorded fourth band member Pat Smear (guitar) will be heard.

MTV Unplugged In New York a simply held Artwork is been given. Robert Fisher, who had worked with Cobain in earlier albums such as In Utero (1993), was responsible for the design. The cover picture shows the view from the total to the stage. The word "Nirvana" is maintained in red-orange. The two colors are also taking place through the hinged booklet, which is decorated with flowers and photos depicting the musicians from the unplugged night. Printed is the artwork on rough grain "Glossy Paper".

Conclusion: Who wants to have are something very special in his CD tray should buy this CD because there does not go wrong, perhaps the set-list but not the burner all songs absolutely great implemented even if the instrumentation is somewhat spartzanisch sometimes.
