Group therapy

St. Anger (CD)

Customer Review

This disk is not a Metallica album in the sense that it is usually understood. It is the result of a group on the verge of implosion, needing to recharge while proving to the world that he is still able to exist. Hence the rage spilled throughout the 75 minutes. Hence the adrenaline not always well channeled, but it is not important. Hence, perhaps, too, unusual drum sound, born of a desire to sound more raw than ever. But Metallica is a metal band of all, not a punk band. It is therefore clear from that listening with mixed feelings. Happy that the group came out of this rut too sophisticated that was not his trademark, a grandiloquence in which the group had finally lost to the point of losing its soul. If one spring stunned by this experiment, still remains happy. Note that the disc difficult to tackle, is revealed gradually as the plays. It is perhaps not the best disc of the group but no doubt the indispensable album for réentamer a transition to what they do best, like the show 'Death Magnetic'. A bit like a really rehab ...
